The Director will be responsible for supervising the faculty who support the program, coordinating all of the teaching and training activities that the program provides, establishing and facilitating interactions with external organizations and institutions to make internship opportunities available for the students, coordinating and participating in the recruitment of students for the program, serving as a mentor for students and identifying the needs and representing the interests of the program within the institution. This position requires a versatile and highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills to help maintain and grow the program within the Division. The ability and enthusiasm to work with faculty and staff on major initiatives aimed at expanding and refining the program are essential.

Clinical Research Management Fellow

New Jersey Alliance of Clinical and Translation Science Award (a NIH CTSA hub), the Rutgers SHP MS Clinical Research Management Program is accepting applications for a Fellow in the area of Clinical Research. This is a 6-month fulltime paid position to gain hands on experience in the area of clinical research. The opportunity will be located at one of the RBHS campuses (Newark NJ or Piscataway NJ- depending on the site selected by the program).

Summary of responsibilities: This learning experience will strengthen the fellows’ abilities to bridge classroom training and hands on experiences in order to comprehensively address the development of a clinical research professional.

The fellow will: 

Since each site may be at a different timeframes in their clinical program, at the beginning of each fellowship a list of deliverables will be identified and agreed upon with each fellow for which they will need to complete during their 6-month fellowship. 

Eligibility Requirements:

            - graduated with a MS Clinical Research Management within the last year or will be graduating in May or August 2021.

            - cumulative GPA of 3.0 (with no Academic Integrity issues).  

            - reside in commuting distance to the clinical research site (no paid relocation)

Essential Functions

The instructor of Clinical Trials Research Associate is primarily responsible for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of classroom instruction, and providing related services and support activities required for optimal student learning and effective educational programming. As a member of the Clinical Trials Research Associate faculty, the instructor is also accountable for assisting and supporting the program director, field coordinator and/or department dean, as needed, in meeting the instructional and curricular requirements of the program, department, and division. More specifically, and consistent with the employee’s current contract of appointment.

Minimum Qualifications

1. The instructor must hold a minimum of a master’s degree in either clinical research, nursing, allied health sciences, life sciences, social sciences, or another related field
2. Must have had at least three (3) years’ of recent experience as a clinical research associate/monitor or clinical data manager in a pharmaceutical company, a medical device company, or contract research organization
3. Should have at least one (1) year of experience in the training of clinical research professionals within a pharmaceutical company, a medical device company, or contract research organization
4. Must be familiar with:
• virtual clinical trials
• real-time and remote risk-based monitoring
• eTMS, CTMS, and EDC technology

Work Experience

1. Must have had at least three (3) years’ experience as a research site study coordinator., clinical research associate, clinical data manager, clinical safety professional, or other clinical research professional in a pharmaceutical company, medical device company, contract research organization, or research center
2. Should have at least one (1) year of experience in the training of clinical research professionals within a pharmaceutical company, medical device company, contract research organization, or research center.

Preferred Qualifications

Highly preferred to have current certification by a clinical research professional organization (such as the Society of Clinical Research Associates, the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, Society of Clinical Data Management, Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, or other clinical research professional organization) or must demonstrate competency through a combination of years of industry experience and a record of participation, publications and or presentations to relevant professional organizations/societies/associations within five years of appointment to the position.

Internship, Clinical Operations at Novartis Gene Therapies (formerly AveXis)

Novartis Gene Therapies (formerly Avexis) is pleased to announce recruitment for three (3) summer internship Clinical Operations positions at our Bannockburn, IL office for 2021. Please review the attached job description for these paid internship opportunities, which describes our ideal candidates. Preference will be given to students enrolled in a clinical research program.
