The Clinical Research program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) seeks candidates for a 9-month, full time, tenure track faculty at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the Clinical Research Program (CLR). Teaching responsibilities will be assigned in both undergraduate and graduate Clinical Research programs. In addition, this faculty member will be active in research and scholarship in the clinical research field as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and grant activity. Additional faculty expectations include advising students, performing professional and community service and outreach, and contributing to ongoing program evaluation and improvement.

This open-rank faculty position in the Clinical Research program at the UNCW is in a non-nursing degree program based in the School of Nursing (SON) within the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). The Clinical Research Program offers a B.S. in Clinical Research, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Clinical Research Operations, and an M.S. in Clinical Research and Product Development. These degree programs prepare students for careers in the clinical research industry developing medical therapies. The curriculum is taught primarily online with the exception of the undergraduate internship.

Upon initial appointment, teaching responsibilities will be assigned in both undergraduate and graduate Clinical Research programs. In addition, this faculty member will be active in research and scholarship in the clinical research field as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and grant activity. Additional faculty expectations include advising students, performing professional and community service and outreach, and contributing to ongoing program evaluation and improvement.

Candidates interested in the position at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor should have potential for innovation and leadership in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. To be considered at the rank of tenure-track or tenured Associate Professor, candidates are expected to have an established record of teaching, scholarship/research, and service.

Faculty qualifications must include a doctoral degree in a life science or health care-related field or other terminal degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, DPH, Ed.D, DNP, MD, or JD) with relevant biopharmaceutical, clinical research, or health care experience. Candidates must have experience working on product development, clinical studies, or regulatory approval of medical therapies. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in teaching and developing course materials. Experience with teaching online courses is preferred.
